Our carbamide peroxide gels have been specially formulated for a more pleasant taste, increasing the comfort for the wearer.

Our carbamide peroxide tooth whitening gel comes in two strengths: strong and sensitive. This page explains what this means:

Many acidic carbamide peroxide tooth whitening gels on the market can damage your teeth but Whiter Than White gels are safe and have a neutral pH value of 6.8 - 7.2. The active ingredients in our gels are 16% carbamide peroxide (strong gel), and 11% carbamide peroxide (sensitive gel). These are the same teeth whitening gels that dentists' use.

If you were to buy a tooth whitening kit from a retail outlet they would sell a sodium perborate gel, not a carbamide peroxide gel. This would remove some surface stains, but would be only moderately effective in whitening teeth.

The carbamide peroxide gels both work by breaking down in the mouth to produce water and significantly, oxygen. The oxygen easily penetrates teeth, where it safely and effectively oxidises stains.

Our 11% carbamide peroxide (sensitive) gel works more gradually than our strong gel because it has to work harder to break down first into hydrogen peroxide, then oxygen, which whitens the teeth. It is also suitable for overnight use.

Whiter Than White's 16% carbamide peroxide (strong) gel works more quickly than the 11% carbamide peroxide as it is of a higher percentage and therefore requires less treatment-time.
